Privacy Policy

MFX Studios, LLC ("we," "our," or "us") operates the Flocus mobile application ("App"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use Flocus.

1. Information We Collect

Flocus is designed to be private by default. All reading content, preferences, and progress data are stored locally on your device. We do not operate servers that receive or store your personal data.

Data stored on your device only:

• Imported content (PDFs, web articles, clipboard text)
• Reading progress and library metadata
• App preferences and settings
• Reading speed and timing configurations

Data collected by third-party services:

• Firebase Analytics (Google) — We collect anonymous usage events such as app opens and feedback submissions to improve the app experience. No personal content or reading material is transmitted. See Firebase Privacy.
• Firebase Crashlytics (Google) — We collect anonymous crash reports and non-fatal error logs to identify and fix bugs. These may include device model, OS version, and app state at the time of a crash. See Firebase Privacy.
• Apple StoreKit — Purchase and subscription transactions are processed by Apple. We do not receive or store your payment information. See Apple Privacy.

2. Apple Intelligence Features

Flocus uses Apple's on-device Foundation Models framework for AI features including text cleanup, summarization, and key sentence detection. All AI processing happens entirely on your device. No content is sent to Apple, MFX Studios, or any third party for AI processing.

3. Safari Extension

The Flocus Safari Extension extracts article text from web pages you choose to import. This content is processed locally on your device and stored in the app's shared container. No web browsing data or page content is transmitted to external servers.

4. Clipboard Access

Flocus accesses the system clipboard only when you explicitly tap the clipboard import option. We do not monitor, read, or store clipboard content in the background.

5. Children's Privacy

Flocus is suitable for users of all ages (rated 4+). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Since Flocus does not require an account and stores data only on-device, no personal information from any user — including children — is transmitted to us.

6. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties. Anonymous analytics and crash data are processed by Firebase (Google) as described above.

7. Data Retention

All reading content and preferences are stored locally on your device. You can delete all data at any time through Settings > Clear All Reading History. Uninstalling the app removes all local data. Anonymous analytics data retained by Firebase follows Google's data retention policies.

8. Your Rights

Since we do not collect or store personal data on our servers, there is no personal data for us to access, modify, or delete. All your data is under your control on your device. If you have questions about data collected by Firebase, please refer to Google's Privacy Policy.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes through the App or by updating the "Last updated" date above. Your continued use of Flocus after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
